The Falls and the park
400 metres, five minutes on foot
A path leads down from the boulevard to the park that runs along the gorge. The brink of the Horseshoe Falls is a few minutes' walk to the south, and the park continues past the American Falls to the Rainbow Bridge. Boat tours leave from the foot of the gorge, reached by a lift from the park. In winter the spray freezes on the railings and the path is cleared daily.

Fallsview Boulevard
At the front door
The boulevard runs along the top of the hill above the gorge and holds most of the district's hotels, restaurants and the casino resort with its theatre. Within a few minutes' walk are a grocery store, a pharmacy, a bank, several restaurants that stay open late and a bus stop for the town's routes. The incline railway down to the park starts at the boulevard's southern end.

Clifton Hill and the old town
1.2 kilometres, fifteen minutes on foot
Clifton Hill is the street of attractions that climbs from the park at the Rainbow Bridge: arcades, wax museums, a big wheel and family restaurants. Beyond it the older part of the town holds the railway station, the bus terminal and quieter streets of brick houses. The Rainbow Bridge to the United States is at the foot of the hill and can be crossed on foot with a passport.

Niagara-on-the-Lake and the wine country
25 kilometres, half an hour by road
The Niagara Parkway follows the river north from the falls, past the whirlpool, the botanical gardens and a string of wineries, to the small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake at the mouth of the river. The town holds a summer theatre festival, a main street of shops and a lakeshore of old houses. A cycle path runs the whole length of the parkway, and bicycles can be borrowed from the building's store.

Getting here
By air, rail and road
By air
Toronto Pearson is about an hour and a half by road; Buffalo Niagara is forty-five minutes, across the border. The concierge arranges transfers from either airport.
By rail
Trains from Toronto arrive at the station in the old town; a taxi from there takes ten minutes. Trains from New York arrive at the station on the American side, a short taxi ride across the Rainbow Bridge.
By road
The building is signposted from the Queen Elizabeth Way. Underground parking is entered from the side street behind the tower; the concierge opens the gate.
Distances and journey times are approximate and depend on the season and on traffic around the falls, which is heaviest on summer weekends. Border crossings require a valid passport.
